MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market this week continued showing a mixed response with Indian
and Sri Lankan pepper prices were reported with a decrease.
As the Indian Rupee weakened against the US Dollar (INR 82.50 @ 1 USD) recording a 1% depreciation,
Indian pepper price responded negative this week.
Both local and international prices for Indonesia reported stable this week as some farmers finished their intermittent harvest.
Local prices for Malaysian pepper reported with an increasing trend this week.
Whilst, international prices for Malaysian pepper remained stable and unchanged.
Local price for Sri Lankan pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend this week which partially contributed
to the weakening of the Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar (LKR 328.64 @ 1 USD), recording a 1% depreciation.
After reported with a decreasing trend for the last two (2) weeks, Vietnamese local black pepper price responded positive this week.
Whilst, the others reported stable and unchanged.
The US market pepper prices slightly decreased this week. Furthermore,
Muntok white pepper was reported at USD 6,100 CF for March/April.
