MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market in the first week of 2025 showed a rather positive outlook with no origins reported with a decrease.
After reported with a decreasing trend for the last two (2) weeks, both local and international price for Indian pepper reported stable this week. Furthermore, as reported by thehindubusinessline.com, strong demand, high production cheered up Indian pepper growers despite rising imports.
Both local and international price for Indonesian pepper reported stable this week as the flowers have started to grow in Lampung area.
The local price for Malaysian pepper remained stable since last week. Whilst, the international price for Malaysian pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last three (3) weeks.
Even though the Sri Lankan Rupee strengthened against the US Dollar (LKR 293.00 @ 1 USD) or 1% appreciation, the local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported stable this week.
The local price for Vietnamese pepper reported with an increasing trend this week. Whilst, the international price for Vietnamese pepper reported stable and unchanged.

Brazilian black pepper reported with an increasing trend this week. Furthermore, Chinese white pepper as well as Cambodian black pepper remained stable and unchanged.
