MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


In the fourth week of October, the global pepper market continued to exhibit mixed trends, with only India showing an upward trajectory. Meanwhile, the U.S. market has weakened for the third consecutive week, accompanied by a depreciation of several local currencies.
Both domestic and international prices of Indian pepper recorded upward adjustments for three consecutive weeks, partly supported by a 1% appreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US Dollar (INR 87.93/USD).
Both domestic and international prices of Indonesian pepper remained stable for the second consecutive week.
Only the International price of Malaysian white pepper remained stable this week, other categories showed a downward trend.
Domestic pepper prices in Sri Lanka remained steady compared with last week.
Both Domestic and international prices of Vietnamese pepper declined during the week.

Prices of Brazilian black pepper, Cambodian black pepper, and Chinese white pepper remained stable and unchanged.
Between 2023 and August 2025, Latvia exported a cumulative total of 860 metric tons (MT) of pepper. Poland emerged as the leading importer with 554 MT, followed by Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, and Belarus.
