The market was quiet during the week under review, particularly in Vietnam, China, Sarawak, Lampung and Bangka, in view of anticipating Chinese New Year celebration. Although prices were reported unchanged at those origins, but trading was very limited, as traders were not in the market, busy with the celebration. It is expected that market will be changing by second week of February.

Unlike with the situation in India, the market was more active and local price in Kochi increased from INR 49,800 per 100 kg at the beginning of the week to INR 50,800 at the week-s close. Fob price also increased marginally by 1%. In Sri Lanka, the price increased to LKRs. 869 per kg from LKRs 851 last week.
