MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The market this week shows a mixed response with only Viet Nam international price reported with an increase.
After reported stable for the last two (2) weeks, Indian pepper price reported with a decreasing trend this week.
As the Indonesian Rupiah weakened against the US Dollar (IDR 15,662 @ 1 USD), recorded 1% depreciation,
pepper price for Indonesia responded negative this week as less enthusiasts of pepper planting due to
the cost of planting is more expensive than the price as well as plants dying of disease.
Malaysian local price remained negative since the 2nd week of October.
Whilst the international price for Malaysia continued to be reported stable and unchanged.
Local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported stable this week.
Only international price for Viet Nam responded positive this week.
Whilst, local price for Viet Nam reported stable and unchanged.
Import of Pepper by Austria (2020 - 2022).
