MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The market this week continued showing a mixed response with Sri Lanka local price and Malaysia international black pepper price were reported with a decrease.
Even though the Indian Rupee weakened against the US Dollar (INR 82.23 @ 1 USD), recorded 1% depreciation,
the Indian pepper price continued to be reported with an increasing trend this week.
Both local and international prices for Indonesia responded positive this week which could be contributed to
the strengthening of the Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar (IDR 15,563 @ 1 USD),
recorded 1% appreciation as less export due to lack of stock.
As the Malaysian Ringgit strengthened against the US Dollar (MYR 4.39 @ 1 USD), recording a 1% appreciation,
Malaysian local price reported with an increasing trend this week. Furthermore, Malaysia international white pepper price remained stable and unchanged.
Whilst, Malaysia international black pepper price responded negative this week.
Local price for Sri Lankan pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend since mid-November.
Both local and international price for Viet Nam reported stable and unchanged this week as the Viet Nam’s market is quiet.
