MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

The pepper market this week showed a mix response with only China white pepper reported with a decrease.
Both local and international price for Indian pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend since last week.
Even though Indonesian Rupiah weakened against the US Dollar (IDR 16.165 @ USD 1) or 1% depreciation,
both local and international price for Indonesian pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last two (2) weeks
as some farmers in Bangka Province kept their stock for higher prices.
Only local price for Malaysian pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last three (3) weeks.
Whilst, international price for Malaysian pepper remained stable and unchanged.
The local price for Sri Lankan pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last three (3) weeks.
Both local and international price for Vietnamese pepper price continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last for (4) weeks
as some Vietnamese farmers kept their stocks rather than selling them.

Brazilian black pepper reported with a significant increase this week, as reported by Brazilian pepper exporter,
the main reasons for this price increase were massive crop failures in the state of Espírito Santo, the main pepper producing region in Brazil
because of El Niño hence farmers kept their stock. Furthermore, Cambodian black pepper reported stable this week.
Whilst, Chinese white pepper reported with a decreasing trend.
