MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market in the last week of March continued to show mixed response.
As the Indian Rupee strengthened against the US Dollar (INR 85.64 @ 1 USD) or 1% appreciation, both local and international price for Indian pepper reported with an increasing trend this week.
Both local and international price for Indonesian pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week which partially contributed to the weakening of Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar (IDR 16,584 @ 1 USD) or 1% depreciation.
Local price for Malaysian pepper continued to be reported stable this week. Whilst, international price for Malaysian pepper reported with an increasing trend.
The local price for Sri Lankan pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last five (5) weeks.
Local price for Vietnamese pepper reported stable this week. Whilst, the international price for Vietnamese pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend since last week.

Brazilian black pepper continued to be reported with an increasing for the last three (3) weeks. Whilst, Cambodian black pepper as well as Chinese white pepper reported stable and unchanged.
