MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


Market this week continued to show a rather negative outlook with no origins reported with
an increase since early October as India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka celebrate Diwali this week.
Indian pepper price continued to be reported stable since last week.
Following two (2) weeks with a decreasing trend, pepper price for Indonesia reported stable
this week as transaction and stock remained limited at the farmer\'s level.
Malaysian local price responded negative for the last three (3) weeks.
Whilst the international price for Malaysia continued to be reported stable and unchanged.
After reported stable for the last three (3) weeks,
local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.
Both local and international prices for Viet Nam continued to be reported with
a decreasing trend for the last five (5) weeks which could be contributed to the weakening of
the Viet Nam Dong against the US Dollar (VND 24,870 @ 1 USD), recorded 2% depreciation.
The US market continued to be reported with a decreasing trend contributed
to the weakening of the local currency against the US Dollar. Furthermore,
Muntok white pepper was reported at USD 6,200 CF for Nov/Dec/January 2023.
