MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


Market this week showed a rather stable outlook for the pepper price with Viet Nam and Sri Lanka pepper price recorded a decrease.
Even though Indian Rupee weakened against the US Dollar (INR 76.08 @ 1 USD), recording a 1% depreciation, Indian pepper price reported stable this week.
Both local and international prices for Indonesia continued to be reported stable for the last four weeks as most of the stock is only available at middlemen level.
Both local and international price for Malaysia continued to be reported stable since the beginning of March.
Sri Lanka local price responded negatively this week due to the weakening of the Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar (LKR 312.67 @ 1 USD), recorded 2% depreciation.
Viet Nam local pepper price responded negatively this week. Whilst, Viet Nam international price reported stable.
US Market was reported with a slight dip with selling pressure from pepper origin countries. Furthermore, Muntok white pepper was reported at USD 7,300 CF Apr/May.
